The dangers of being a celebrity photographer were recently underscored by the death of a man who had just finished taking pictures of Justin Bieber. According to reports, the photographer was from New Mexico and was struck by an SUV while he was crossing a major road in Los Angeles to return to his vehicle. The pedestrian accident highlights the dangers of the paparazzi profession and the care that pedestrians should take when crossing busy roads.

Officials said that the photographer was following Bieber's white Ferrari when the singer's vehicle was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol. The famous singer was not driving at the time-a friend was allegedly behind the wheel of the vehicle when it was being followed by the photographer. The traffic stop occurred around 5:45 p.m. Authorities noted that the Ferrari exited the freeway it was seen speeding on and stopped on Sepulveda Boulevard.

The photographer stopped his vehicle across the street from the traffic stop, crossed the road, snapped some photos and according to authorities, was told to leave the scene. A police officer said that crossing Sepulveda Boulevard is like crossing a freeway. While returning to his vehicle, the photographer was hit by an SUV driven by a woman. The woman turned her vehicle around and used it to block traffic so that no one else would hit the man.

He was rushed to a nearby medical center where he passed away due to the injuries he sustained. Images of the vehicle made it seem that the man had been struck at a decent speed. Authorities interviewed the driver and sent her home-her vehicle was left at the scene. Also at the scene was a friend of the photographer who said that the man freelanced for several media outlets.
